GARY NUMAN, NEIL TENNANT, VINCE CLARKE, MARTIN GORE, PHIL OAKEY and BERNARD SUMNER will all appear as guests on a forthcoming BBC4 documentary entitled 'Synth Britannia' which will set out to trace the beginnings of the synth revolution of the late seventies and early eighties. The show will air on October 16th, see NEWS for more information.

TOYAH's THE HUMANS project will release a cover of Nancy Sinatra's 'These Boots Are Made For Walking', featuring ROBERT FRIPP on guitar, as a digital single on September 21st. The band will also release a new edition of their album 'We Are The Humans', including the new track, in October. The new edition will be available online exclusively from RememberTheEighties.com in a couple of weeks!

TEARS FOR FEARS are looking into playing a run of dates in Singapore, Manila and Australia in the early part of next year with tentative plans to play on the US East coast in the summer. 

BANANARAMA and BONNIE TYLER will both appear on the bill of a special charity show, 'Women of Rock', which is due to take place at London's Royal Albert Hall on November 1st. Other artists on the bill include Mel C, Joss Stone and Jamelia.

SALT-N-PEPA, currently in the middle of a series of US shows, are planning UK and European dates for the early part of 2010...

MADNESS have added a London show to their annual Christmas tour of the UK and will play at the O2 Arena on September 18th. See GIGS for all the tour dates. The band will also release a new CD/DVD hits compilation 'Total Madness' on September 21st, see NEWS for the full tracklisting.

ZODIAC MINDWARP will headline the International Tattoo Convention at London's Tobacco Dock on September 26th, playing songs from their upcoming new album 'We Are Volsung' as part of their live set.

THE BEE GEES' Robin and Barry Gibb are said to be reuniting for a series of live shows, their first since the death of their brother and former Bee Gee, Maurice Gibb. The band have said that plans are being made however no details about any shows have yet emerged.

EUROPE have announced a UK tour for next year with DIAMOND HEAD supporting. The 'Last Look At Eden' tour will be the band's first UK dates since 2006 and follow the release of Europe's new studio album of the same name that was released this week. See GIGS for all the dates.

DEACON BLUE, MIDGE URE, HUE AND CRY, LLOYD COLE and THE BLUEBELLS are among acts appearing at a series of dates in Scotland under the banner 'Homecoming Live' which will celebrate the Scottish music of the last three decades.

EDWYN COLLINS has announced a Scottish tour, plus dates in London and Manchester, to take place in October. See GIGS for all the dates.

NEW ORDER's PETER HOOK will publish his account of the extraordinary story of Manchester's Haçienda nightclub on October 5th and will promote the book - 'The Haçienda - How Not To Run A Club' - with a series of signings, Q&A sessions and DJ sets around the country. Hook has also compiled and mixed 'Haçienda – Acid House Classics', a double CD of many of the greatest Haçienda acid classics from artists including A Guy Called Gerald, Fast Eddie, Phuture, Adonis, and New Order themselves.

GUNS N' ROSES are to play two live shows in Japan in December, their first live dates since the release of their 'Chinese Democracy' album. See GIGS for the dates.

THE HUMAN LEAGUE, ECHO AND THE BUNNYMEN and HAPPY MONDAYS are all to perform at the forthcoming Dubai Sound City festival which runs in various venues around the city between November 5th and 7th.

BERLIN have released a live CD/DVD package entitled 'All The Way In' which features the band playing live in Los Angeles in April of this year. See NEWS for the full CD and DVD tracklistings.

THE BELOVED are working on new material, their first since the release of their 1996 album 'X', and are previewing three new tracks on their MySpace page. See NEWS for the link.

SINEAD O'CONNOR has teamed up with ADAM AND THE ANTS' MARCO PIRRONI's THE WOLFMEN on the new Wolfmen single 'Jackie, Is It My Birthday?' which is scheduled for release on October 5th. The track is one of a number recorded by the band and produced by The Dandy Warhols' Courtney Taylor-Taylor.

SHEENA EASTON's 1980 album 'Take My Time' will be reissued in an expanded edition - featuring four bonus tracks - on October 19th. See NEWS on the website for the full tracklisting.

BOOK OF LOVE have announced a reunion show at New York's Highline Ballroom on September 27th to mark the reissue of their Sire Records catalogue. The albums -'Book of Love', 'Lullaby', 'Candy Carol' and 'Lovebubble' - have all been reissued and digitally remastered and feature bonus tracks, rare live recordings and remixes (including a rare Daniel Miller remix of 'I Touch Roses' included on the new edition of their eponymous debut album).

MORRISSEY will release an 18-track compilation of key b-sides from his last three studio albums on October 26th. 'Swords' will be released on CD and vinyl and initial quantities of the CD will include a bonus disc containing eight tracks recorded live in Warsaw last year. SPANDAU BALLET will release a brand new single on November 9th. The track, entitled 'Once More', will be the recently reunited band's first new release for twenty years. Spandau Ballet will also release a new album on the same day although the album title is still to be announced. Recording commitments however have forced the band to reschedule their mainland European shows. After Spandau Ballet's forthcoming UK and Irish shows they will play one more show in Amsterdam on November 1st and then pick up the European dates - which now includes a new show in Rome - in March next year. CULTURE CLUB, ULTRAVOX, KAJAGOOGOO, DURAN DURAN, CLASSIX NOUVEAUX and THE STRANGLERS will all have concerts, recorded in the early 80s, released as downloads in December. The shows were originally recorded by the BBC for their 'In Concert' series and will be available on December 7th alongside shows from THE SPECIALS and THE SELECTER that were recorded in 1979. ABBA, GENESIS, DONNA SUMMER, KISS and RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS are among the nominees to enter the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame next year...

ABC are to perform their classic album 'The Lexicon of Love' in its entirety at two special shows in Sheffield and Manchester in December. The shows follow the success of the band's 'The Lexicon of Love' show at London's Royal Albert Hall in April and will again see the band accompanied by a full orchestra conducted by ANNE DUDLEY. ABC will also headline the forthcoming Oxfam charity event Oxjam at London's Matter in October, topping a bill that includes Mylo, Kisy Seel Out and The Hoosiers. See GIGS for all the dates.

MADONNA is thought to be planning a collaboration with JANET JACKSON on a tribute song for the late MICHAEL JACKSON according to current rumours which started after the duo dined together after MTV's recent VMA Awards.

MICHAEL JACKSON will release a new song on the soundtrack to accompany his forthcoming film 'This Is It'. The song, also entitled 'This Is It' will be released on October 12th and will be followed by the 2-CD soundtrack album on October 26th. The 'This Is It' film will premiere at fifteen simultaneous events around the world on October 27th. See NEWS for more details about the album and about the launch of the film.

GEORGE MICHAEL will release a live DVD entitled 'Live In London' on December 7th. The DVD and Blu-Ray release was filmed at London's Earls Court on Michael's '25 Live' tour last year.

FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD will release a new compilation 'Frankie Say Greatest' on November 2nd to mark the 25th anniversary of the original release of their classic album 'Welcome To The Pleasuredome'. The CD/DVD release will feature all the band's hits plus new remixes of 'Relax','Two Tribes' and 'Power of Love' and original remixes.

PSYCHEDELIC FURS have added two more shows to their upcoming run of UK dates and have announced that as part of their set they will perform their 1981 album 'Talk Talk Talk' in its entirety. The band will play the shows in London, Glasgow and Manchester in November, see GIGS for all the details.

BON JOVI are reportedly planning a twenty-show residency at London's O2 Arena in November and December...

JOHN FOXX will release a live album 'In The Glow' on October 19th, featuring concerts recorded in 1983 when he was touring his 'The Golden Section' album. The 2-CD package will feature mostly unreleased recordings from shows at London's Dominion Theatre and The Lyceum in October and December 1983 respectively. Foxx will also see reissues of his 'Shifting City' and 'Pleasures Of Electricity' albums released on the same date in expanded 2-CD editions. John Foxx will also feature in BBC4's 'Synth Britannia' documentary which will air on October 16th. See NEWS for the full tracklisting of all three releases.

KRAFTWERK will reissue digitally remastered editions of their classic albums in October. The special editions of 'Autobahn', 'Radio-Activity', 'Trans Europe Express', 'The Man Machine', 'Computer World', 'Techno Pop', 'The Mix' and 'Tour De France' will be released as individual albums packaged in special slipcases featuring newly expanded artwork and previously unseen images on October 12th, and together in an 8-CD boxset on November 16th.

MIDNIGHT OIL's classic single 'Beds Are Burning' has been covered by a group of artists - including DURAN DURAN's SIMON LE BON, BOB GELDOF and THE SCORPIONS - for release as a special single to raise awareness of global warming. The single will be available as a free download from early October.

MARILLION will release their new album 'Less is More' on October 2nd and will support the release with a short UK and Irish tour in November and December, see GIGS for all the dates. The album and tour will consist of new acoustic arrangements of songs from Marillion's catalogue.

ELVIS COSTELLO is set to release a series of live albums, drawn from classic bootlegs, starting with 'Live At The El Mocambo' on September 29th which features a 1978 show recorded in Toronto.

DEVO will reissue two of their classic albums in November and will mark the releases by playing both in their entirety during a forthcoming US tour. The albums - 'Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo!' and 'Freedom Of Choice', will both come out on deluxe CD and limited edition coloured vinyl. See GIGS for all the dates.

DURAN DURAN are lining up special editions of their albums 'Duran Duran', 'Seven And The Ragged Tiger' and 'Notorious' for release in the first half of next year...

THE CLASH's Mick Jones and Topper Headon have re-recorded a version of The Clash's 'Jail Guitar Doors' for BILLY BRAGG's charity of the same name, and were joined on the recording by Billy Bragg and four former prison inmates. The recording session was filmed as part of the 'Breaking Rocks' documentary about the Jail Guitar Doors initiative which premiere as part of the Raindance film festival on October 1st.

BOY GEORGE will perform live at the opening of 'Dose', a new London club-night, at Proud in Camden on October 27th.

MADNESS have added two matinee shows to their forthcoming December dates. The lunchtime shows will take place in Southend on December 5th and Newcastle on December 12th. See GIGS for all the dates. The band will also headline Edinburgh's annual Hogmanany celebrations this year, bringing in the New Year live from an outdoor concert in the city centre.

BANANARAMA will appear on the bill of the forthcoming 'Rock With Laughter' Christmas show at London's Wembley Arena on December 22nd. The show will feature a bill of comedians and musicians and will also include performances from Jaspet Carrott, Sugababes, Lenny Henry, Peter Andre, Ed Byrne and Jo Brand among others.

WHITNEY HOUSTON has announced UK dates next year with news of five arena shows in April. The dates will be in support of Houston's new album 'I Look To You' which will be released on October 19th, see GIGS for all the details.

NIK KERSHAW is planning an acoustic album which will feature a favourites from across his catalogue. Kershaw is currently recording studio versions of some of the songs from his recent live sets and may also include some new songs on the currently untitled album.

JANET JACKSON will release a hits collection entitled 'Number Ones' on November 17th. The 2-CD compilation will feature thirty-four tracks including a brand new song 'Make Me'.

BIG COUNTRY have released a live CD/DVD package featuring the band's concert at Glasgow's Barrowlands on New Year's Eve 1983. Both discs contain the concert while the DVD contains a number of extras including a live show shot in New York City in 1982. See NEWS for the full tracklisting.

NEW ORDER are considering releasing a reissue of their hit 'World In Motion' next year to coincide with England's bid for success in the 2010 World Cup.

THE QUIREBOYS will reissue their 'A Bit Of What You Fancy' album on November 9th in a remastered edition. The band have also lined up an eight-date Christmas tour in December, see GIGS for all the dates.

KYLIE MINOGUE is said to be planning a residency in Las Vegas following the success of her current US tour dates, her first North American tour.

THE PSYCHEDELIC FURS have postponed their planned UK dates in London, Glasgow and Manchester which were scheduled to take place in November. The shows are to be rescheduled but refunds are available... as a consequence my planned interview with the band has also been postponed!

SHALAMAR's JEFFREY DANIEL will be in the UK in November to hold a series of dance masterclasses across the country. Daniel, in addition to his work with Shalamar, is best known for choreographing MICHAEL JACKSON's 'Bad' and 'Smooth Criminal' videos and for teaching Jackson the moonwalk. THE THOMPSON TWINS will release a five-album boxset entitled 'Box' on October 26th. The release will contain all the band's recently reissued and expanded albums across four 2-CD sets and features the original albums 'A Product Of...', 'Set', 'Quick Step & Side Kick', 'Into the Gap' and 'Here's to Future Days' alongside 71 bonus tracks including b-sides and remixes.

HUGH CORNWELL has lined up a short UK run of shows as part of his current tour. The shows will see Cornwell perform both his critically acclaimed solo album 'Hooverdam' and THE STRANGLERS' classic 'Rattus Norvegicus IV' album in their entirety. See GIGS for all the dates.

KRAFTWERK are currently working on a new album which they hope to release in 2010, meanwhile the band reissue digitally remastered editions of their classic albums this week with an 8-CD boxset '12345678' scheduled for release on November 16th.

CYNDI LAUPER will feature on 'Here Lies Love' the new album project from Fatboy Slim and David Byrne based on the life of Imelda Marcos. Other artists involved include Tori Amos, Martha Wainwright and Santigold. The album is tentatively sceduled for release before the middle of next year.

PUBLIC ENEMY are hoping to raise $250,000 from fans to record a new album. Fans will be asked to buy $25 shares in the album in exchange for a share of any profit the album makes.

A-HA have decided to split at the end of 2010 after a special farewell tour to mark the 25th anniversary of their debut album 'Hunting High & Low'. The farewell tour will finish in Oslo on December 3rd and 4th and more dates are expected to be released soon. The band have stated that although they are retiring as a band they are not retiring as individuals, saying 'Doing this now will give us a chance to get more involved in other meaningful aspects of life, be it humanitarian work, politics, or whatever else - and of course through new constellations in the field of art and music'. The band will be announcing more dates around the world shortly but have said that the tour will include shows in the USA, South America, Japan and Europe and are hoping to schedule shows in Australia too. 

SPANDAU BALLET's first live show since reforming took place in Dublin this week and has been reviewed in the REVIEWS section.

DEPECHE MODE's 'Enjoy The Silence', YES's 'Owner Of A Lonely Heart', and PHIL COLLINS' 'Two Hearts' have all received awards from the BMI recently marking radio airplay in excess of 3 million plays...

ERASURE will release a 21st anniversary edition of their classic 1988 album The Innocents next week (November 24th in the USA). The album will be available as a standard CD featuring a remastered edition of the original release, and as a deluxe 3-disc (2-CD and 1-DVD) hardback book edition containing the remastered album, a disc of b-sides, remixes live tracks and rarities plus a concert filmed at Birmingham's NEC on The Innocents tour in 1988 as well as videos for all the singles and TV performances. FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD are to be awarded the 'Classic Track' award by Q Magazine for their classic single 'Relax' at next week's Q Awards in London...

NEW ORDER and THE CLASH are among artists to have classic album covers featured on a series of UK postage stamps. New Order's 'Power, Corruption & Lies' and The Clash's 'London Calling' are among the ten covers featured in the series alongside classic jackets from David Bowie, Blur, Coldplay, Led Zepplin, Mike Oldfield, Pink Floyd, Primal Scream and The Rolling Stones. The set of ten stamps will be available from January 7th.

BON JOVI will start a 135-date 30-country world tour at New Jersey's Meadowlands Stadium on May 26th next year. Dates are expected to be announced shortly but will include a UK residency at London's O2 Arena.

SHAKATAK will play two special 30th anniversary concerts at High Barn in Great Bardfield, Essex on January 22nd and 23rd.

GUNS N' ROSES have announced thirteen Canadian shows in January and February next year. The shows, billed as being part of the 'Guns N' Roses Chinese Democracy World Tour' have sparked new rumours that the band is planning to announce a full tour very soon. See GIGS for all the dates.

RUN DMC are to be the subject of a new broadway musical according to reports. Producer Paula Wagner is working on a show that will tell the story of the seminal hip-hop group and is set to meet with the remaining members of the band shortly to discuss the idea.

SIOBHAN FAHEY has announced the tracklisting for 'Songs From The Red Room', her new album using the SHAKESPEARS SISTER name, which is scheduled for release on November 16th. See NEWS for the full album tracklisting.

THE DAMNED have been forced to cancel their upcoming US dates after having problems getting hold of the necessary work visas...

SWANS WAY and SCARLET FANTASTIC singer MAGGIE K DE MONDE will appear at London's Halo Bar on November 20th as one half of Maggie & Martin, alongside MARC ALMOND collaborator Martin Watkins. The duo will be joined by a number of guests including THE AU PAIRS' Lesley Woods and a DJ set from ABC's STEPHEN SINGLETON.

MADNESS will reissue their debut album 'One Step Beyond' in an expanded 2-CD edition next week. The release, to mark the album's 30th anniversary, will feature the original album alongside a host of bonus tracks and videos. See NEWS for the full album tracklisting.

B-MOVIE have announced a rare UK show at Mansfield's Town Mill on November 7th with support from Electraset.

DURAN DURAN, ERASURE, DEPECHE MODE, OMD, PET SHOP BOYS, HUMAN LEAGUE, KIM WILDE and ULTRAVOX are among the artists complied on a new 3-CD release featuring original 12" mixes. The release contains one CD of tracks featured in a continuous mix by Blank & Jones and a further 2 CDs of remixes. BOY GEORGE will appear as a special guest at Rufus Wainwright's forthcoming 'A Not So Silent Night' concert at London's Royal Albert Hall on December 9th. Boy George is planning to release a solo album next year which will allegedly include a song entitled 'Your Pain Makes a Beautiful Sound' which he has written about Amy Winehouse.

SIMPLE MINDS and OMD have announced that they will perform the KRAFTWERK track 'Neon Lights' together on stage as part of Simple Minds' forthcoming 'Graffiti Soul' tour where OMD will appear as special guests. Both bands have covered the track previously but the tour will be the first time they have performed it together. See GIGS for all the dates.

DEF LEPPARD has cancelled the third leg of its US tour due to 'personal matters'. The shows were set to start on October 22nd and run until November 28th, refunds are available from point of purchase.

UB40 will play a special charity show at Birmingham's 350-capacity Rainbow Courtyard venue on November 3rd. The show is to benefit the venue which is under threat of closure and will kick off UB40's UK tour that runs through November and December. A-HA have decided to split at the end of 2010 after a special farewell tour to mark the 25th anniversary of their debut album 'Hunting High & Low'. The farewell tour will finish in Oslo on December 3rd and 4th and more dates are expected to be released soon. The band have stated that although they are retiring as a band they are not retiring as individuals, saying 'Doing this now will give us a chance to get more involved in other meaningful aspects of life, be it humanitarian work, politics, or whatever else - and of course through new constellations in the field of art and music'. The band will be announcing more dates around the world shortly but have said that the tour will include shows in the USA, South America, Japan and Europe and are hoping to schedule shows in Australia too.

ฟัง Slayer แล้วครับ ผมว่างานนี้เค้าเริ่มดิ่งเหวลงไปเรื่อยๆจนกู่ไม่กลับแล้วครับ (ความจริงก็ดิ่งมาหลายชุดแล้ว) มันเป็นแธรชเน้นแต่ความแรงเพียงอย่างเดียว แต่แทบไม่มีลูกล่อลูกชนอะไรเลย ลูกโซโล่นี่จืดสนิทเลยครับ แถมซาวนด์ก็บางลงเรื่อยๆ ถึงงานจะออกมาในแนวแรงๆแต่ก็ไม่สามารถสร้างความสะใจแบบอัลบั้มเก่าๆได้เลยครับ คงต้องบอกลากันเสียทีสำหรับวงนักล่าวงนี้

BOY GEORGE will headline a HERE AND NOW show at the Bay Festival on The Isle on Man on June 20th next year. The rest of the bill will feature RICK ASTLEY, KIM WILDE, BELINDA CARLISLE, CUTTING CREW, THE REAL THING and CURIOSITY KILLED THE CAT.

FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD have announced the tracklisting for their forthcoming new compilation 'Frankie Says Greatest' which will be released on November 2nd. The album will come out as a 2-CD deluxe edition, a single-CD standard edition and via digital download. See NEWS for the full deluxe edition tracklisting.

GEORGE MICHAEL will release a one-off Christmas single via Island Records on December 13th. The track will be a brand new version of 'December Song' the track he made available as a free download last year and will be available on CD and via download.

THOMAS DOLBY will play a special show at London's Union Chapel on February 28th next year. The show will be an impromptu evening and will see the touring band from Dolby's 1983-84 tour reunite onstage. See NEWS for more details.

BRYAN FERRY has teamed up with DJ Hell for a single release 'U Can Dance' which will be released in January.

PETER GABRIEL will release a new album entitled 'Scratch My Back' in early 2010. The release will feature orchestral covers of songs from artists including DAVID BOWIE, TALKING HEADS and PAUL SIMON. Gabriel explained the concept of the album by saying 'The songs are not simply covers, they are major reinterpretations of some famous stuff. It's quite radical.' LANDSCAPE will reissue two of their albums - 'Landscape' and 'Manhattan Boogie Woogie' - in a double album package on November 23rd. See NEWS for the full album tracklisting.

SHAKIN' STEVENS will release a ten-album boxset 'The Epic Masters' on November 16th. The set features remastered editions of ten albums plus a bonus CD of remixes and alternative versions, see NEWS for more details. Stevens will also play a one-off London show at the Islington Academy on December 8th.

SIGUE SIGUE SPUTNIK will be part of the line-up for the forthcoming Act Art event in London on November 6th. The 'Children Of The Damned' event will feature 100 artists and SSS will be performing updated electronic versions of classic tracks from 'Flaunt It'. The band will also play at Camden's Underworld on December 6th.

BAD LIEUTENANT, the new band put together by NEW ORDER's BERNARD SUMNER, have announced that they will be supporting the PET SHOP BOYS at their forthcoming UK shows in December. See GIGS for all the dates.

THE CLASH will reissue their 'London Calling' album on December 14th in a 2-disc CD and DVD set... the full tracklisting is expected to be announced shortly.

ECHO AND THE BUNNYMEN will release a live album 'Live At The Royal Albert Hall' on November 23rd. The release will feature the band's 2008 show at London's prestigious venue during which they played their classic 1984 album 'Ocean Rain' in its entirety, alongside a selection of their hits. GO WEST frontman PETER COX has joined Manfred Mann's Earth Band as their new vocalist, however the role will not affect his work with Go West who are currently lining up a 25th anniversary tour for next year.

PUBLIC IMAGE LIMITED have announced a further London show at Camden's Electric Ballroom on December 23rd. The band will also play the venue on December 22nd instead of playing Brixton Academy as originally planned. See GIGS for all their dates.

THE LIMIT, the seminal club that played a vital role in the post-punk Sheffield scene, is the subject of a new book 'Take It To The Limit' by Neil Anderson that tells the story of the venue and of Sheffield's vibrant musical scene throughout the 80s. The book features exclusive interviews with PHIL OAKEY, MARTYN WARE and many others and includes previously unseen photographs of performances at the club from a number of acts including SIOUXSIE AND THE BANSHEES, THE CRAMPS and THE SELECTER. To mark the publication of the book the club is staging a reunion at Sheffield's Casbah Club on November 28th.

ELTON JOHN and BILLY JOEL have announced another run of co-headlining 'Face 2 Face' shows in the US in November and December. The shows will see both singers perform separately and together and continues the series of shows the pair started in 2003. See GIGS for all the dates.

HEAVEN 17 have announced a 30th anniversary tour for next year which will see the pioneering group perform their classic album 'Penthouse And Pavement' live for the very first time. CYNDI LAUPER, DEBBIE HARRY and JOAN JETT have been immortalised as Barbie dolls, the first dolls in Mattel's new 'Ladies of the 80s' collection...

PET SHOP BOYS will release a seasonal EP entitled 'Christmas' on December 14th. The 5-track release will be available on CD and via download and features a new version of 'It Doesn’t Often Snow At Christmas' as its lead track, as well as two versions of their cover of MADNESS' classic 'My Girl', a medley of PSB's own 'Domino Dancing' with Coldplay's 'Viva la Vida' produced by Stuart Price and a new version of 'All Over The World' from the current PSB album 'Yes'. NIK KERSHAW will play a one-off solo show in Italy on November 21st at the Lian Club in Rome.

A-HA have added a third Oslo show to the end of their farewell tour next year. The band have already sold out two shows in the city of December 3rd and 4th and will now play at the same venue, Oslo's Spektrum, on December 2nd.

GILLAN release a 3-CD live album this month featuring concerts and radio sessions from 1981 and 1982. The set includes a previously unreleased concert recorded at London's Rainbow in March 1981 as well as the band's headline show at the Reading Festival in August 1981.

PAUL YOUNG, FISH, GRAHAM GOULDMAN and KIKI DEE will be among the artists performing with SPIKE EDNEY's SAS BAND at Poole's Lighthouse on December 17th with additional SAS Band shows scheduled at Southampton's The Brook on December 16th and Woking's Bisley Pavilion on December 19th.

THE ICICLE WORKS' 1990 album 'Permanent Damage' will be reissued by Cherry Red on November 23rd in an expanced package which also includes all the related single b-sides.

BON JOVI are to appear at a special celebration to mark the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall on November 9th. The band will be the only entertainment group to appear and will perform their single 'We Weren't Born to Follow'. Bon Jovi have also announced a residency at London's O2 Arena next summer as part of their tour to support new album 'The Circle'.

T'PAU singer CAROL DECKER is among a host of artists who have recorded a charity song to benefit wounded troops. The track 'We Will Remember Them' was released as a free download via iTunes on Sunday and on commercial CD this week. Other artists involved include MICA PARIS, ROBIN GIBB, PAUL RODGERS and former Atomic Kittens Natasha Hamilton and Liz McClarnon.

WHITNEY HOUSTON has announced two concerts in Russia in December. The shows, her first in the country, will take place in Moscow on December 9th and St. Petersburg on December 12th

ABBA have been voted as the band the UK public would most like to see reform for live dates according to a recent survey by the royalty collection agency the PRS. SADE will release her first new album for almost a decade next year. The album, entitled 'Soldier of Love', will be released on February 8th.

DEPECHE MODE fans are the subject of a new documentary film entitled 'The Posters Came From The Walls' which will have a UK premieres around the country on December 1st, including a showing at the Clapham Picturehouse in London which will feature not only the film but also a special Q&A session with the film's directors and some special guests. RICH KIDS, featuring MIDGE URE, RUSTY EGAN, STEVE NEW and GLEN MATLOCK, are to play a one-off reunion show at London's Islington Academy on January 7th. The show is a benefit for Steve New and special guests are expected to be announced soon.

THE BLOW MONKEYS will play a special one-off show in Vienna at Bach (Bachgasse 21) on Saturday December 12th.

OMD have made a demo version of a brand new track 'Sister Marie Says' available from their official website. The track is a preview from the forthcoming OMD album 'The History of Modern' which will be released in 2010, see NEWS for download details.

ALISON MOYET will see the catalogue albums she recorded for Sony reissued in expanded 2-CD editions next year. The albums - 'Alf', 'Raindancing', 'Hoodoo' and 'Essex' - will all be remastered for the series of reissues which will start in early 2010 and are expected to feature a second CD featuring b-sides and remixes.

TEARS FOR FEARS will play four dates in the Far East in May after their supporting slot with SPANDAU BALLET in Australia. The headline shows will take place in Manila, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taipei in May, see GIGS for all the dates.
