Normally, all you guys see me play Strats. But actually, I am also a fan of Les Paul.
Most famous Les Paul players like Jimmy Page, Gary Moore, Mark Knopfler, Slash, Billy Gibbons etc. play vintage '59 humbucker Les Pauls. Which give fat, dark, heavy tones. But my favourite era of Les Paul was back into early 50's. When Gibson hadn't got humbucker pickups. On that time, P-90 was used for Les Paul. Which give more brighter, mellow, creamy tone than the humbuckers. Maybe we can say that P-90 sounds more like Fender's single coil pickups because P-90 is actually single coil pickups.
There are number of Gibson P-90 players like David Gilmour (Of Course!!) which he used P-90 Les Paul on Another Brick in The Wall Part 2 solo. Neil Young has a long relationship with his Gibson Les Paul "Old Black" which was used since late 60's until now.
Nothing more to say... Here is my Les Paul.
